On August 22nd, 1935, the Historic Alger Theater opened. Join us as we tour the theater, currently under renovation, and discuss its history, first as a neighborhood cinema, through its time as a venue for live performances, a brief stint as a "blood and gore" B-movie house, and its current stewardship under Friends of the Alger Theater.
Please note: The theater is currently under heavy construction and renovation. This will be a hard-hat tour; it is not currently an ADA-accessible space. Please wear closed toe shoes and casual clothing. Guests must be able to traverse uneven ground and stairs.
Members, please log in; discount will be reflected at checkout. $35 general public, $25 members.
