Get a rare behind the scenes look at the Majestic Theatre Complex with Detroit Historical Society!
Situated on Woodward Avenue in the heart of Midtown, the 1100 capacity Majestic Theatre was originally designed by C. Howard Crane and opened on April 1, 1915, as one of the world’s largest movie theaters.
In addition to the theatre, we'll view the lobby, The Garden Bowl, and the Magic Stick/Alley Deck (not ADA accessible). We'll learn about the Zainea family which has owned the building for almost 70 years, the impact it has had on Midtown, and special events that have happened at the building, among other things. Q & A is welcome! Stay after for some Sgt Pepperoni's pizza (included in tour price) and consider a game of bowling (not included)!
