Pingree Detroit is a worker-owned cooperative that transforms upcycled automotive materials into handcrafted accessories.
Pingree Detroit honors Hazen S. Pingree, a shoemaker, Civil War Veteran, four-term Mayor of Detroit, and 24th Governor of Michigan. His legacy of craftsmanship, innovation, and community empowerment inspires their mission. Pingree teaches Detroiters, especially US veterans, new skills in industrial sewing, shoemaking, and leather crafting. They also teach entrepreneurship, creating pathways for every maker on their team to become co-owners.
We'll tour the company and learn about its history and current successes. All attendees will receive a special gift.
