10:00 AM  –  1:00 PM

Hamtramck Exploration Day! Hamtramck is a two square mile city surrounded almost entirely by the City of Detroit. Established as the township of Hamtramck in 1928 after a French-Canadian soldier named Jean Francois Hamtramck, its roots extend to the 1790s.

First, we'll begin with our second installment of the brand new Behind the Scenes series, taking you society to society...from DHS to the historical societies of metro-Detroit.

We'll start at the Hamtramck Historical Museum, whose motto is, "We're different." Join us to learn about this diverse and iconic Detroit neighbor.

After, we'll walk next door for a tour of the Polish Art Center, one of the country's premier emporiums of Polish cultural and traditional goods. Be sure to pick out some holiday gifts before you depart.

Before you leave Hamtramck, consider stopping across the street at Srodek's for some pierogi to take home!

Both spaces are walker and wheelchair accessible.

$25 members, $35 general public. Members, please log in; discount will be reflected at checkout.
