BTS - Water Works Park

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday October 8

10:00 AM  –  11:00 AM

SOLD OUT

Water Works Park has been a source of pride for Southeast Michigan since 1879. It served as the first branch of the Detroit Public Library and as an architectural marvel, with a minaret-like stone tour that rose 185 feet into the air. Now that it is home to GLWA's newest water treatment plant, the park will continue to be a source of high-quality drinking water for years to come.

Join us for a behind the scenes look at the treatment plant and this historic piece of Detroit architecture.

Please note, this is a secure facility, so all attendees will need to provide a copy of their driver's license and fill out a release form. No cell phones are allowed during the tour, and all attendees must arrive at the same time so a pre-determined meeting point will be arranged prior to the tour. A dress code of closed toe, low heeled shoes and weather appropriate clothing will be strictly enforced; details will be sent to all registrants. A hard hat and safety glasses will be required for all attendees. All tour participants must be able to walk one mile, unassisted, which includes navigating staircases.

$25 members, $35 general public. Members, please log in; discount will be reflected at checkout.
