With the landscape of Detroit ever-changing, many historic buildings are saved and repurposed to give them new life. Join the Detroit Historical Society as we visit the Siren Hotel, former site of the world-famous Wurlitzer Building. Built in 1926, the Wurlizter company, already known in Detroit for providing organs for theaters like the Fox and Fillmore, showcased pianos and musical instuments, but went vacant in 1986. The building now shines as the inernationally-visited Siren Hotel, Candy Bar and Karl's diner. Join us as we discover the storied past and exciting future of this unique historic building.
