Detroit is the City of Champions!

The 1935 – ’36 seasons were a special time for Detroit Athletes, Teams and especially, Detroit sports fans.  The Detroit Tigers won the World Series, Joe Louis was the boxing champion, The Detroit Red Wings won their first Stanely Cup, the Detroit Lions won their first National Championship, and so much more.

This led the Michigan Governor to proclaim Detroit the City of Champions and the rest of the country agreed.
