Come celebrate the 87th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with the “MLK Day: Give Us the Ballot ” event on Monday, January 17, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Detroit Historical Museum.
This FREE event is a great way for families of all ethnic backgrounds to celebrate Dr. King’s life and legacy. During the day’s activities, visitors can participate in a voter registration, a project for kids, as well as listen to an expert on the importance of registering to vote. Kids will make their own ‘mock’ voter registration card and receive MLK worksheets and coloring pages.
