Step back into postwar Detroit, where noir shadows, midcentury style, and a city at its most chic set the scene for self-taught photographer Norman Zadoorian’s black-and-white images. His son, author Michael Zadoorian, offers a behind-the-scenes look at his father’s work, from the moody photographs of the late 1940s to lively street scenes capturing Detroit’s changing character in the 1950s and beyond.
