Step into the shadows of Detroit’s smuggling past. You and your guests will discover the daring women who ruled Detroit’s underground liquor trade in our captivating exhibit, Blind Pigs and Bootleggers: Michigan Women During Prohibition. The night's highlight features an intimate curator conversation with Doris Lanzkron-Tamarazo, the creative force behind the exhibit, who will share untold stories of local blind pigs, rum-running women, and the midnight smuggling operations that utilized the island's strategic waterways. 

  • The evening includes wine and light refreshments.
  • Open to all membership levels.   
  • Advance registration required.   
  • Guests are welcome; names must be listed at time of registration.  
  • Alcohol is served at evening receptions.   
  • Parking for this event is complimentary (use the DGLM lot).  
  • If you discover for any reason that you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation.
