Join us at the Detroit Historical Museum for a special member reception celebrating Black History Month. Sharon Sexton, Chair of the Black Historic Sites Committee, will share stories from her new children's book based on her own experience of attending the 1963 Detroit Walk to Freedom, MLK Jr's Detroit Dream.  

The evening will also feature docent-led tours and a fun-filled scavenger hunt with great prizes.   

  • Open to all membership levels.  

  • Advance registration required.  

  • Guests' names must be listed at time of registration.  

  • Alcohol is served at evening receptions.  

  • Parking for this event is complimentary (use the Detroit Historical Museum lot on Kirby). 

  • If you discover for any reason that you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation.
