The Friends of Detroit's Black Historic Sites Committee invites you to the return of their signature Jazz in the Streets of Old Detroit concert series featuring the contemporary, soulful sound of The James Russell Project.
Created by Detroit jazz flutist and composer James Russell, The JRP's sound is mainly influenced by traditional jazz with a fusion of modern styles such as Hip-Hop, Spoken word, Jazz Fusion/Experimental, and R&B/Soul. With recent performances at popular venues including Baker's Keyboard Lounge and Cliff Bells, the JRP brings a jazz sound that connects and is relatable to audiences of all ages.
Complimentary parking and light refreshments will make this a perfect evening for jazz enthusiasts, an easy date night, or reconnecting with friends in the Streets of Old Detroit.
Proceeds from this event help support the work of the Black Historic Sites Committee.
